NABERS

Buildings have a significant global environmental impact and are a contributor to climate change. Buildings are responsible for 40% of the world’s carbon emissions and use almost 40% of the world’s energy and 30% of the world’s available drinking water.

NABERS is a national rating system in Australia that measures the environmental performance of buildings and offices. Put simply, NABERS measures the energy efficiency, water usage,
waste management and indoor environment quality of a building or tenancy and its impact on the
environment.

Like the efficiency star ratings on a fridge or washing machine, NABERS provides a rating from
one to six stars for a building or office’s environmental footprint. A NABERS rating identifies areas for savings and improvements to be taken after a rating to reduce a building’s
environmental impact.

Did you know that the energy used by office tenancies can account for 50% of the total office building’s energy use? Fortunately, you can take steps to reduce your office’s energy footprint and help save the environment.

Take strong action against climate change by measuring and understanding your building or environmental footprint with a NABERS Energy rating – start today to help build a better
tomorrow.
